However, after working in that field for a year, she decided that being stuck indoors was not the path for her. She started looking into other paths and was given an intro flight in a small plane for her birthday, she loved it and decided that she also wanted to do a flight in a helicopter. She did an intro flight in a helicopter March of 2019, and applied for the helicopter program at SUU soon after. Upon completion of flight training she took a job as a flight instructor and in 2023 she accepted a position with Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters, flying tours out of Las Vegas Nevada. Sidney enjoys being outdoors as much as possible and spending time with her boyfriend and two cats.

She began working at the Logan airport at USU dispatch while completing her private pilot’s license through the USU program. Maddy became interested in the UAS program and was considering adding it as a minor. After learning more about this new program she ultimately decided to switch her major to Aviation Management with an emphasis on UAS. Since then, she has earned her Part 107 certificate and learned to fly a variety of drones including ones she has built.

In High School, he took aviation classes at the GTI to get started early in the industry. After High School, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which allowed him to learn how to communicate with people, make connections, and learn the fun and importance of service. Upon returning from his mission, he started working for Skywest Airlines as a way to start getting hands-on with aircraft maintenance. While working there, he gained both mechanical and Non-destructive testing experience. During his time in this program, he has done his best to learn about both the material and industry.
